What is an Andy Warhole?
Oct/090
Andy Warhole was a art historian during the old ages of film industry when Marilyn Monroe was in her peak. Initially he was a portrait artist reproducing what he had conceived in his mind using canvas printing method. Earlier in the 60’s silk-screen images were transferred onto canvas to make paintings by Warhole .Earlier his experiments were done on cartoon characters. He later decided to make fine art blending the printmaking techniques in his later works.
Warhole’s paintings at one stage had become un-comparable with other artists work. While making a portrait he had not produced a human figure in flesh and blood. Explored the very character of the personality in a particular film. This he achieved only after his decision to move away from hand painting to photo silk screening. His works in those days had been authorized by his signature.
Warhole was very much particular on the selection of a source image. All the paintings were given his personal attention by way of choosing, mixing and applying the paint on the canvas. He made imprints of celebrities, socialites, rock bands, film and fashion. He made a blend of glamour and humor in his silk screening works that elevated him to the level of a most complex artist. His works have made a smooth entry into books. Duplications were made using his acetate plates, at a later period against which people had their own doubts, as how it could happen without him. Such was his production of print sources. That was what is an Andy Warhole.
