A Giclee is an art form. It is a fine art printing, of much better quality than any other inkjet printing previously used. It comes from a French word, meaning “to squirt”. Special light fast inks are used. So keep the artwork out of the sun and it will remain true for 25 years. Heat and humidity can also harm the print. Quality prints last a long time and a not too expensive. In addition to the unique printing process the artwork must be on a very high quality paper specifically for art or on a canvass. If your use something other than this, it may turn yellow because of the acidity in the paper.
When you search Giclee in Google there are millions of search results. Because of this much of the artwork is as not as high quality as it once was. It would be wise to buy artwork form a reputable dealer, one who has no problem telling you what printer and paper was used in making the print. As mentioned though Giclee prints are inexpensive compared to other forms of artwork, so finding a replacement for a bad purchase would not be too expensive.
